Tech Night

Tech Nights are a fun, relaxed networking environment where you can connect with the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) community in Southeast Alberta. They offer an opportunity for students and industry to engage with each other and include a Tech Talk where local experts share their stories to help inspire others.

The Capstone Project in the Engineering Design and Architectural Technology Diploma (formerly the BEET Program) program provides students with the opportunity to apply the technical knowledge and skills they have developed throughout the program to a comprehensive, real-world design project. Working individually or in teams, students research a problem, develop design concepts, and produce detailed engineering or architectural solutions using industry-standard tools and technologies. Projects may incorporate elements from mechanical, civil, or building design, and require students to create technical drawings, 3D models, and supporting documentation while following the full design process—from problem definition and planning to testing and evaluation.

As part of showcasing their work, a student will present their capstone project at Tech Night, where they will speak about the inspiration behind their design, walk through the development process, and demonstrate key features of their project. This presentation gives attendees a chance to see the practical application of the program’s skills and technologies while highlighting the creativity, technical ability, and problem-solving skills students develop as they prepare to enter the engineering technology field.

This tech night will be held at the Crave, at the Medicine Hat College, located at 299 College Drive SE, Medicine Hat.

Don't forget to register! While this event is free thanks to our sponsors, seating is limited.

Tech Nights are brought to you by:
