Lean Six Sigma is a methodology that combines the waste reduction principles of lean with the quality management concepts of Six Sigma.
Lean, popularized by Toyota, seeks to improve efficiency by improving workflow: no effort or time is wasted because the right things get to the right place at the right time. Developed by Motorola in 1986, Six Sigma is a set of techniques that reduces product defects through improved work processes.
